Risk-Taker’s Place In History

Here’s what I learned this morning in my book-reading: Good can never become great unless we are willing to take risks in life.

I remember some Bible characters–imperfect ones–like you and me–who changed the course of history and made God famous after taking risks in their own generation.

* Joshua rose to greatness as an Israelite leader after choosing to trust God and be bold and courageous in the face of “giant” oppositions in the Promised Land.

* Esther saved a generation of Jews after making a bold decision to face the king and tell him the truth about her lineage and the impending destruction of the Jewish race.

* The three Hebrew friends--Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego (in the book of Daniel)–occupied influential positions in the Babylonian kingdom’s political world later on, after standing pat in their decision to bow down to God only.

Good can never become great unless we are willing to take risks in life.

What risk is God telling you to take today–in your campus? In Your work? In your business? In your family?

Joshua, Esther, & The three Hebrew friends--Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego are among all the best Biblical examples of the faithful servants of the Living GOD of Israel. Their desire to please the heart of the Living GOD was firm and truly not shaken just like as exhibited by the three Hebrew friends--Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego, they remained loyal and zealous before the Name of the Living GOD of Israel, even faithfully facing the death in a furnace that was heated 7x hotter than the average heat as ordered by the king for they refused to bow down before the king- made idol of himself. From the start till the end the three Hebrew friends remained faithful to bow down and serve only the Living GOD of Israel and indeed! The word of the Living GOD remained faithful and true not returning to Him void, everyone who trusted His Holy Name where never put to shame, as Romans 9:33 (New King James Version) 33 As it is written:
“ Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” And GOD saved the three Hebrew friends from death in the fire by His holy angel and humbled & making the king fear and worship the Living GOD of Israel because the king saw GOD's faithfulness before His faithful servants. It's just heart-warming and inspiring how the Living GOD works! Thank You Pastor Richard Dy and Ma'am Ava for helping us ponder the Living WORD of the Living GOD in Christ & the Paraclete!
