Fearless Forecast On Pacquiao-Clottey Fight

There’s hardly been any media noise in the Manny Pacquiao world boxing title defense against Ghana’s pride Joshua Clottey.

These two ring gladiator will be mixing it up by lunch time (Manila Time) tomorrow (Sunday) in Dallas, Texas, which would mean a traffic-free, quiet Metro Manila again. :)

Anyway, judging from Pacquiao’s most recent fights, he has become deadlier in the ring because of his hand and foot speed, his power as well as his ever-growing legend, considering that by now, he has ben considered as he world’s pound-for-pound best fighter nowadays.

Just looking at the slew of victims he had in the last five years–Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Oscar dela Hoya, David Diaz, Oscar Larios and Miguel Cotto, all these were no patsies but were big-name fighters during their clashes with the country’s boxing pride.

Against Clottey, boxing aficionados and even experts believe Pacquiao do have the huge, huge upperhand because of the wealth of experience he had.

Me? I believe Pacquiao can finish off Clottey inside five rounds.

Clottey, according to my former colleague in the newspaper Atty. Ed Tolentino, believes the limited offensive repertoire and awkward defensive stance, may only add to the 33-year-old challenger’s problems in dealing with the quicker and power-punching Pacquiao.

Well, I think much of the talk must end now, the show goes on anyway.

Pacquiao in five!
